“Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart” Psalm 37:4 NIV.
Where’s the line between the promises of God and our human responsibility to make our dreams come true?
The answer is found at the intersection of desire and obedience. Some of us wait for God for so long that we forget why we’re waiting. Others rush ahead into forcing the world around us to conform to our wishes, and sometimes lose faith or bog down in disappointment when it doesn’t work out.
God promises to be with you. He’s the God of presence. Delighting yourself in Him each day opens up new possibilities, a new sacred space to share our hearts with Him and He with us. From there, the dreams we dream together will emerge.
As He faithfully guides us, we put one foot in front of the other in steps of trust and obedience. Our work is obedience. His responsibility is the result.
