John Chisum is a renowned Christian music artist, songwriter, and producer. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1954 and grew up in a family with a strong musical tradition. His father, who was a pastor, played the guitar, and John learned to play at a young age. He started writing songs when he was a teenager and was inspired by the music of artists such as Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel.

In the early 1970s, John Chisum moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music. He started working as a session musician and songwriter and co-wrote several hit songs, including "He's Still on the Throne" and "I Love Him Too Much."
