ABOUT JOHN
John Chisum is a renowned Christian music artist, songwriter, and producer. He was born in Fort Worth, Texas, in 1954 and grew up in a family with a strong musical tradition. His father, who was a pastor, played the guitar, and John learned to play at a young age. He started writing songs when he was a teenager and was inspired by the music of artists such as Bob Dylan, the Beatles, and Simon & Garfunkel.
In the early 1970s, John Chisum moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in music. He started working as a session musician and songwriter and co-wrote several hit songs, including "He's Still on the Throne" and "I Love Him Too Much." He also became involved in the contemporary Christian music scene and helped to launch the careers of several artists, including Sandi Patty and Steven Curtis Chapman.
In 1986, John Chisum founded his own record label, Music for the Master, which specialized in Christian music. He produced albums for many popular Christian artists, including Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins, and Twila Paris. He also continued to write and record his own music, and his songs have been recorded by numerous artists in the Christian music genre. Today, John Chisum is recognized as one of the pioneers of contemporary Christian music and continues to be an influential figure in the industry.
